Volkswagen T2 Camper is coming back to Europe
The German based automaker Volkswagen has just remembered that it still has an iconic vehicle in production for almost 50 years, in the form of the T2 Camper, and has decided to offer the van in the Netherlands in an updated version which is packing everything that your ordinary caravan would.
According to Volkswagen, the “new” T2 Camper is coming with a sofa bed, a kitchenette with a refrigerator, a stowable table, a two-burner gas stove and a stainless steel sink, along many other features which will make old hippies extremely happy, and additionally, the vehicle can be ordered in the range-topping Highline version with leather seats and linoleum floor, so the “classic” vomit will be easier to wipe after extended beach parties.
Volkswagen says that the updated version of the T2 Camper is made in Brazil and it’s being powered by a 1.4 liter, four-cylinder engine, which is developing 79 horsepower, mated to a four-speed manual transmission which allows the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 16 seconds, with a top speed of 135 km/h or 84 mph.
The updated version of the T2 Camper is being offered by Volkswagen in the Netherlands for a starting price of 32.425 EUR (44.700 USD) but the costs can rise to 55.995 EUR (77.190 USD).
